I live in West Africa...but schooled in England.
While in Prep School I witnessed racism...but I couldn't understand it. I was smarter in class than those who called me names and a top athlete in my School who beat records.
So..when they called me names and a teacher treated me badly....I couldn't understand did. I saw it as a form of envy.
