For 126 years, the US and Belgium have played key roles in shaping Congo's destiny. .
The Berlin Congress of 1885 was a meeting where the Europeans gathered to decide how they would divide up parts of Africa to rob and which territory they would each take to terrorise, murder & loot from.
In April 1884, seven months before the Berlin Congress, the US became the first country in the world to recognise the claims of King Leopold II of Belgium, to the territories of the Congo Basin.
Eventually, the genocide, and unspeakable horrors related to the brutal economic theft in Congo by Leopold's armies, resulted in millions of murders.
So, the US joined other world criminal European governments to force Belgium to take over Congo as a regular colony, instead of just a place his armies were deployed in to rob, murder, rape & torture.
During the colonial period the US acquired a strategic stake in the enormous natural wealth of Congo!
The U.S used the uranium from Congolese mines to manufacture the first atomic weapons, that they used for their Hiroshima and Nagasaki atrocity.
With the outbreak of the cold war, the US and its western allies were not prepared to let Africans have meaningful control over their own strategic raw materials.
The Europeans were scared, they knew that a lot of black people hated them for their evil. .
At this time, the Soviets, were helping victims of Western/ European oppression to fight for their freedom.
So because of their guilt, the Europeans (& U.S) thought that the African minerals would be traded to the Soviet camp.
Patrice Lumumba's determination was to achieve real independence from the West. .
Patrice was striving to have full control over Congo's resources in order to use them to improve the living conditions of our people.
For these reasons, Patrice was perceived as a deadly threat to western evil. .
To fight him, the US and Belgium used all the tools and resources at their disposal.
They used the United Nations leadership, under Dag Hammarskjöld and Ralph Bunche, to buy the support of Lumumba's Congolese rivals , and hired killers to carry out the murder.
