After dominating the boxing world for many years, Mike Tyson had several career reincarnations. He went on to become an actor, a one-man stage show performer, book author, and now he aims to become a weed farmer. Iron Mike has recently broken ground on the aptly named, 'Tyson Ranch' in the Mojave Desert in California.
While many other celebrities have gotten into the sales aspect of the burgeoning legal marijuana industry, Tyson is aiming to create his own weed business from beginning of production to final product sales. The 40-acre ranch will have space to grow the cannabis, a factory to make edibles with the cannabis, and a dedicated space for 'master growers' to develop new strains of cannabis. It will also have an amphitheater and high-end campground facilities.
Tyson has been a long-time advocate of allowing military veterans who suffer from PTSD to have access to cannabidiol (CBD). Located near Edwards Air Force Base, the ranch said a majority of its staff will be military veterans. His ranch aims to be a resort for both growers and enthusiasts who enjoy marijuana. While California officially made recreational use of marijuana legal on January 1, 2018, there is no opening date set for Tyson Ranch.
